VISITING THE MUSEUM
Rokeby Museum is a National Historic Landmark and 90-acre historic site located on US Route 7 in Ferrisburgh, Vermont. The site includes a house fully furnished with family belongings spanning more than 200 years and eight outbuildings, all of which are open to view. Rokeby is open from mid-May to mid-October each year, and there are several different ways for you to see it.

HOUSE TOURS
The house may be seen by guided tour only in groups limited to twelve. Tours last about 45 minutes and are offered at 11:00, 12:30, and 2:00 Thursday through Sunday.

ADMISSION
$6 for adults $4 for seniors and students $2 for children 12 and under.

The outbuildings and several-acre farmstead surrounding the house may be seen by self-guided tour. Permanent exhibits are located in the outbuildings, and an audiotape tour is also available.

HIKING TRAILS AND GROUNDS
Rokeby's hiking trails take you through more than 50 acres of working and former farmland and historic orchard and are open year round during daylight hours. You may wander on your own or take the self-guided hike, “How A Farm Becomes A Forest.”

SCHOOL PROGRAMS
Rokeby Museum's school programs are designed to enrich the classroom curriculum for grades four through eight and to help bring history to life for young Vermonters. For more detailed information, Click Here.

2009 CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Rokeby Museum will be open from May 24 to October 11, 2009.

Opening Day – Quakers and Slavery
Sunday, May 24, 2 pm

Historian and Friend Betsy Cazden will present her research on Quaker ownership of slaves in New England. Yes, Quakers did own slaves at one time, including ancestors of the Rokeby Robinsons.

Outbuilding Tour
Sunday, July 5, 2 pm

Architectural historian Tom Visser will conduct a tour of Rokeby’s historic farm buildings – all of which have newly designed exhibit panels. These humble old structures have stories to tell, and Professor Visser will make them talk!

Pie & Ice Cream Social
Sunday, August 16, 1-4 pm

Don’t’ miss our annual extravaganza of homemade pie and ice cream. Relax to music provided by the Vergennes City Band as you sample pies of every type. Proceeds support the Museum’s work – so have a second piece!

Nature Hike
Sunday, September 20, 2 pm

Naturalist and consulting ecologist Jesse Mohr will lead visitors on a guided hike in the footsteps of Rowland E. Robinson. Come for a ramble in the woods highlighted by Robinson’s own words and images.

From the South: Rokeby is located approximately 3 miles north of Vergennes on US Route 7 in Ferrisburgh. Watch for the historic site marker and front entrance sign on right.
From the North: Travel approximately 2 miles south of the village center of North Ferrisburgh on US Route 7. Watch for museum entrance sign on your left. View Driving Map.
